"Hi, I’m Edward — a dedicated math tutor focused on helping students build confidence, mastery, and results in math. I’m a recent graduate of Yale’s MBA program and currently adjunct faculty in the math department at Seattle University. With over 11 years of experience teaching in public and private schools, small groups, and 1-on-1, I specialize in IB Mathematics (AI and AA), AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, SAT, GRE, ACT Quant, and the TMUA admissions exam. I bring a warm, approachable, and rigorous style to every session, adapting to what works best for each student. I keep my student load small to ensure a personalized experience and provide tailored practice materials along with additional resource recommendations to support independent study.

I taught for four years in Los Angeles public schools and five years at the American International School of Quito, where I served as math department chair and taught courses through AP Calculus BC and IB HL. I also served as lead instructor and math curriculum coordinator for Zorro SAT Test Prep. While I focus on math, I can provide resources for English/Verbal sections and often collaborate with students who work with a separate Verbal coach.

I hold a BA in Economics, an MA in Education (USC, magna cum laude), and an MBA from Yale. I keep up-to-date with test prep: I scored 800 in Math (1570 overall) on the Oct 2024 Digital SAT and consistently achieve 170 Quant on ETS GRE practice exams.

Beyond teaching, I founded and managed an eCommerce business and worked at Amazon. I also enjoy supporting students with career goals, MBA admissions, and entrepreneurship.
