"Hi! My name is Yuyuan and I'm a student at Brown University majoring in Comparative Literature and Computer Science. I am a very strong analytical and creative writer, having received National Scholastic Gold and Silver Awards for my poetry, essays, and journalism, and an experienced public speaker/debater, participating in the International Independent Schools Public Speaking Competition since 2020. In addition, I have led Creative Classroom, a community organization providing English writing, public speaking, and leadership workshops to 500+ underprivileged immigrant youth across the US and Canada, accruing over 600 hours of teaching and tutoring experience with elementary, middle, and high school students since 2020. Through my work in Creative Classroom, I've learned that, for me, the most enjoyable part of teaching is the opportunity to help my students grow as learners and as people through leading by example.
