I’ve spent my career in software development, both front-end and back-end. In 2017, I was hired to teach a full-stack coding bootcamp. By the end of my first week teaching, I knew with certainty that teaching coding was my life’s passion!

I taught coding bootcamps and software development apprenticeships for almost seven years full-time but recently transitioned back into a software engineering day job. My former students tell me I am uniquely skilled at breaking complex concepts down into beginner-friendly bites, and helping them improve their practical skills, conceptual knowledge, and confidence.

I have significant experience teaching software/web development in both a classroom (online and in-person) and a 1:1 setting. My knowledge base includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, OOP concepts, React, React Native, Redux, MobX, Vue w/Vuex or Pinia, Node w/Express or Hapi or Fastify, MySQL, MongoDB, ORMs, Firebase, Git, Agile Methodologies, interview prep, Java w/Spring Boot, and Python w/Django or Flask.

While most of my students have been adult age, I am extremely comfortable teaching junior high and high school students, as well. My teaching style will be especially helpful for individuals working (or struggling) through JavaScript-based coding bootcamps. My sense of humor, experience with adult learning strategies, and experience training new dev talent can be great assets on yours or your child's coding journey.
