"Hello! My name is Suzanne. I am a homeschooling mom with 14 years of experience teaching my own children, and nearly 10 years experience teaching other kids, from traditional classrooms, to Sunday school and Bible Studies, to homeschool coops, to online classes, to in-person and online tutoring. Following college I earned my teaching license for 7-12 Math, and K-12 Music. I have taught many different subjects, but the two I specialize in for tutoring are ESL (all school ages) and Mathematics, with a focus on pre-algebra and algebra.

I was probably about 14 years old when I realized that I wanted to be a teacher - because I absolutely loved seeing that light-bulb moment when a student finally understood something that had been eluding them up that moment. I currently help lead our homeschool co-op, as well as head up much of the children's ministry at our church. And I still love those light-bulb moments of understanding, and the joy of connecting with students to help them wherever they are struggling.

My favorite types of tutoring sessions are those where students bring whatever questions they have to the session, and we explore them together. I also have many resources to prepare a more formal curriculum, or take a list of needs and create a custom plan. We can also work on assessing where there may be unidentified gaps and work on filling those in to create a more firm foundation for learning.
