"Hi, I'm Gabby! I graduated magna cum laude from Allegheny College with a Bachelor's degree in History and a minor in education studies. Thereafter, I obtained my masters in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have a history 5-12th grade teaching license and am SEL certified. I am currently in my third year as a 6th grade history teacher. Prior to this year, I have experience tutoring students between the ages of 8 to 14. I have also worked as a strength and conditioning coach for athletes between the ages of 14-18.

When I was in school I always connected with the classes where the teachers not only taught us the curriculum, but did so in creative and innovative ways. I was also always appreciative of the teachers who would go the extra mile to ensure their students absorbed the material rather than heard it during class. As I have gone into my teaching career, I have taken this style of teaching and incorporated it into my own classrooms. I always want to make sure I am explicitly teaching the material, but then providing room for the students to take this material and practice using it until they are comfortable bringing it outside of the classroom. While I am a history teacher, I have additional experience in writing, spelling, fitness, and the college application process. I am also happy to assist in homework help any student may need.

I want to provide a safe space for the students I work with.
