"Hi! My name is Colette and I can't wait to meet you! First, a little bit about me. I have been teaching as a first grade teacher for the past seven years, with a total of 13 years of experience varying from first grade - fourth grade. I've been tutoring on and off throughout my career.
I have been trained in and have used a variety of teaching methods, including Orton-Gillingham and Wilson-Fundations. These programs utilizes a multi-sensory approach to provide a solid foundation in reading. I use Orton-Gillingham in my own classroom and have seen the amazing results, especially among students with Dyslexia/or struggling readers, ELLS and with students learning how to read. I truly love both Orton-Gillingham and Wilson-Fundation programs.
Although my focus for tutoring is in reading/phonics, I can also help your child develop a strong foundation in math by working on number sense, counting, computation, and solving word problems. In writing, I will be able to help your child learn how to add details to stretch a story.
I look forward to working with you and your child. Talk to you soon!
