"Hi, I’m Brianna. I graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degree in Japanese and International Studies, as well as a minor in Chinese (mandarin, simplified characters), and a certificate in East Asian Studies. I volunteered my time to speak and practice with lower-leveled language students from my second year of language study on, but I tutored lower levels of Japanese classes in my final year, where I discovered my love of teaching and helping others succeed. I was able to do this as I was fortunate enough to have learned Japanese, Chinese, and French all throughout high school, so I was well prepared for that level of study.

I graduated high school with honors as well, in the top 12% of a class of over 700. I excelled at English, with things like reading comprehension, grammar, and spelling. Taking linguistics classes in college has only strengthened my understanding of these concepts.

While I am confident in my abilities, I do have more limited teaching experience. Therefore, I think my talents are best suited at a slightly lower level, around grade school to middle school. However, I have true passion for seeing others succeed and passing my knowledge and love of language on to others. I have been studying both Japanese and Chinese for over 10 years now, quickly approaching on 15 years, as I started both in high school. I have a major in Japanese, which constituted 4 years (8 semesters) as well as an in-depth language capstone project. I did take 8 semesters of college Chinese, however time constraints did restrict me from achieving a major in that, so I have a minor in Chinese.
