"I love teaching and helping students gain a better understanding or insight of what they're learning. That "ah-hah" moment is especially fulfilling to me, because it's then that I know the student has grasped the information. Just as education is not limited to a brick-and-mortar room, teaching can be done anywhere there's an opportunity and a willing soul. Learning happens in many places!

I started my teaching career as a substitute, but chose not to be the typical sub. In whatever class/subject I was assigned, I took it upon myself to actively instruct the students rather than babysit them, and help them with whatever they were having difficulty with. I began tutoring students after school while earning my licensure and continued well into my teaching career. My strongest passions are for History and English, but am well-versed in multiple areas. .

I have a Minor in English; an English endorsement for grades 7-12; was on the staff for the college newspaper; have had several literary works published; proofread/edit friend's literary works

I have a degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in History; a Social Studies endorsement for grades 7-12; have taught US History/US Govt/MS Studies/Psychology/Sociology/Economics; participated for several years in living history
