"Hello, my name is Darryl and I have been tutoring Math for over 20 years. My degree is in Computer Science, which helps me to be patient with students. In addition, I am used to breaking down problems into specific steps to facilitate understanding of the unique concepts needed to be mastered. During my tutoring experiences, I've learned to tailor my tutoring style to the individual students' learning style as opposed to using a "one size fits all" method.

My primary experience has been with teenagers as I've been working primarily with High School students. As a result I have extensive experience with the unique issues associated with High School students. The subjects I have tutored the most are Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Pre Calculus. I have also tutored College math courses as an undergrad at Arizona State University, and have worked with grade school children with math issues as well.

When I am instructing a student I like to see what the student understands and then build from there. Sometimes, we need to go over basics before tacking the specific problem at hand. Once I'm convinced that the student has the basics to understand the problem at hand, I'll break down the current problem into single steps that the student can take in order to solve this specific problem as well as other problems like the current one. We'll also go over things the student can look for in order to identify other problems that can be solved like the current one we are working on.
