"Hi! I’m Ray, an undergraduate at UCLA studying Astrophysics and a passionate math tutor with 4+ years of experience helping students from elementary through high school succeed. I’ve taught one-on-one, in classrooms, and through volunteer programs, working with students of all backgrounds and learning styles.

I specialize in math from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics, as well as SAT/ACT prep and middle school competitions like the AMC 8. My own background includes a perfect 800 on SAT Math, 5s on AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics, and college-level coursework in Linear Algebra and Differential Equations.

In my experience, most students struggle in math not because they lack ability, but because they haven’t developed a multi-perspective understanding of the concepts. To truly master a concept, it’s not enough to know one way to solve a problem—you need to understand it from many angles. My approach focuses on building an intuitive grasp of concepts first, then layering in formulas and problem-solving strategies to apply those concepts in any context.
