"Hello, I’m Octavio! I graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology along with a minor in Chemistry and a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Kansas State University.

I have over 4 years of experience in tutoring ranging from Elementary to Middle School Math and Science.

I am very familiar with common core and NGSS standards as well as many distance learning extensions including google classroom, nearpod, and jamboard to enhance students learning virtually.

During my time in school, I have realized that some classes need different study methods to stay engaged and make learning fun. Asking for help can be intimidating that is why I try to apply different study methods with each student to create a safe and fun environment. I understand every student has different needs that is why I am open to any suggestions parents and students can provide. I have many years of experience working with students with common core elementary math. Having graduated with a bachelor of science in biology math has been an important tool for achieving my degree. I am also bilingual in Spanish so I can help students that are not native English speakers in their elementary work as well as adults seeking to get their GED.

Soccer has been a lifelong passion. I was captain of my high school varsity team and went on to play in college. After graduating from college I coached youth AYSO teams helping them reach the semifinals stage. While helping people develop their skills I try to implement the same passion and knowledge I have gained during my playing career.
