"I am an experienced math, music, and LSAT tutor with a strong academic and professional background. I earned a 175 on the LSAT (top 0.5% of test takers), was admitted to Harvard Law School, and graduated magna cum laude (top 10%). After completing two federal clerkships, I worked at top-tier litigation firms. I also graduated with honors from Harvard College, where I studied government, played in the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, and served as a calculus course assistant for Harvard’s introductory calculus sequence.
Teaching is my true passion. I tutor the LSAT, SAT and ACT (especially math), calculus, algebra, and music (violin, viola, and music theory). Calculus is my absolute favorite subject to teach, and my experience as a Harvard course assistant gave me extensive hands-on experience helping students master difficult concepts in a classroom and one-on-one setting.
My teaching philosophy focuses on developing the right mindset for mastery. While I offer practical strategies for standardized tests, I emphasize targeted skill development and long-term study planning. Many students struggle because they study without clear goals or rely too heavily on guided practice, only to underperform when working independently.
For calculus in particular, I focus on conceptual understanding and learning how to set up problems correctly. Because calculus was developed to solve real-world problems, students can often approach it visually and intuitively rather than relying on rote memorization or abstract algebra tricks. I had significant success with this approach as a course assistant at Harvard, and I continue to use it with my tutoring students. For the LSAT, I similarly emphasize critical thinking, pattern recognition, and mastery of fundamentals, along with a concrete plan for improvement.
