"My love for teaching comes from over 18 years of experience in education in both private and public schools. My career as an educator began as a home-school mom, and progressed into classroom teaching at both the high-school and middle-school levels. I have taught all levels of science from 6th-grade earth and space science to high-school physics. I have also taught pre-algebra and algebra 1 for over 5 years, and tutored several courses in math and science at both the high school and collegiate level. I believe this experience enables me to assist students reach their potential and overcome self-imposed limitations when learning math and science.

Before I became an educator, I worked in the chemical industry in environmental testing, drug research, and the paper/pulp treatment. This experience stems from an educational background in chemistry and chemical engineering and has proven beneficial in my career as an educator and tutor. As a former science professional, I have a unique perspective to know what is needed for success in post-secondary career pursuits. And as an experienced educator, I have had the privilege of helping students go from where they are (knowledge wise) to places they never imagined.

I specialize in tutoring middle-school science courses, biology, physical science, chemistry, pre-algebra, and algebra 1. As stated above, I have taught and tutored various science and math subjects, and I would be delighted to help you or your son or daughter thrive in these subject areas. During a session, I aim to help students stay engaged with learning without being overwhelmed. I assign homework after every session, and provide periodic assessments and progress reports. I am available to tutor Mon - Tues 6-9pm, Thurs - Fri 6-9 pm, and Sat. 12-6 pm, and the location is flexible.
