"Hello! I'm a full-time Chemistry, Physics, and Math tutor with over 13 years of experience helping hundreds of high school and college students succeed. My teaching approach centers on a love of learning, intellectual curiosity, and a diverse range of academic interests with the goal being to help students become adaptable and independent learners who appreciate a challenge.
College: I help with General Physics 1 and 2 (Mechanics and E&M, both Algebra- and Calculus-based), General Chemistry 1 and 2, and all Math courses up through Calculus 2.
Middle/High School: I help with Physics (including AP Physics 1, 2 and C), Chemistry (including AP Chemistry) and all Math courses (including AP Calculus AB and BC).
I have a dual degree in Physics and Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. I later worked as a graduate Physics teaching assistant at a local university for seven semesters, teaching 60 undergraduates at a time before being promoted to a Supervising TA position. I've been independently tutoring science and math in many capacities since 2011.
Though challenging by design, learning should also be a positive and empowering experience. I don't just give students the answers - I ask questions to help guide them towards the solution using the given information and the concepts they know. After students develop a strong foundation, I've found they have far greater confidence in their own abilities and don't find problems nearly as intimidating.
As needed, I create lesson plans tailored to their unique learning needs and provide carefully selected problems for them to try between lessons. We can make great progress during our sessions together, but I always expect my students to continue putting in the work on their own. Persistent exposure is key to mastering any life skill! I’ve received overwhelmingly positive reviews for my patient, easy-going attitude and flexible style of teaching. Feel free to send me a message so that we can discuss your learning goals!" less...
