"Hi, I'm Stephanie! I have been an online tutor for the past five years, and I was a classroom teacher for ten years before that. I have tutored part-time since 2008 and have tutored students from 7th grade through college. As a classroom teacher, I taught AP Calculus AB and BC, ACT Prep, Precalculus, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, and 8th grade math. I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and an active teaching license in Wisconsin.

When I am teaching, I meet students where they are and adapt to their individual needs. I help students to see the relevance of what they are learning, the connections among topics, and multiple paths to a problem’s solution. I try to help students learn math deeply and build confidence in their skills. I know the importance of making connections with students, and I work to make sure that all of my students trust me and know that I want what is best for them.

I taught AP Calculus AB and BC for many years, and I know exactly what students need in order to be successful on the exam. I will support what AP students are learning in class, help deepen their understanding of the material, and make sure that they are understanding how to communicate their understanding on the AP Exam.

I am currently pursuing a certificate in Gifted & Talented education. As a parent of two gifted children, I am passionate about helping gifted children succeed. I understand the complex needs of gifted students, including twice-exceptional students.

My schedule currently is ideal for homeschooled students, since I have availability in the mornings. I have worked with many homeschooled students and know that parents often need support when children reach upper-level math courses. I am happy to work with families to figure out what each individual needs!
