"Hi! I'm Starr, an experienced high school and middle school teacher of 17 years with a BS in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master's in Education (Summa Cum Laude). I currently teach Geometry (including Honors) and Statistics, but have also taught Algebra 1, 2, and all middle school math concepts. I've worked with students in public schools, private boarding schools, and homeschool settings. Math can provoke anxiety in many students, so I focus on confidence-building alongside skill attainment.

In addition, I am a certified K-8 educator trained in Orton Gillingham reading instruction with experience tutoring reading, phonics, and other elementary subjects.

My tutoring process is tailor-made, not one-size-fits-all. At our initial meeting, we will discuss your goals and needs, and I will craft a personalized plan based on that information. My goal is for you to truly understand the material, not just memorize definitions and algorithms. As our sessions progress, the plan will adapt to meet your evolving needs.
