"I have a BA in Economics from American University in Washington, DC, and I also have a Master's in Education from Pace University in New York, NY. I am passionate about education, and while I love all types of math, statistics is my favorite subject to both study and teach.
I have taught in many different schools and environments over the years. I have taught in public school in New York City through Teach for America, at a test preparation center in Dubai, UAE, at an ESL center in Cairo, Egypt, and at a charter school in Houston, TX. I am currently teaching at an independent (private) school in Houston, TX where I live with my wife and son. By teaching so many different types of students in so many different locales, I have finetuned my abilities as an educator.
I have had the privilege of teaching and tutoring students from middle school all the way up through college. I have taught Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, and AP Statistics. I have also done test preparation for the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, and LSAT. I am currently teaching AP Statistics and Precalculus at my high school, where I work primarily with juniors and seniors.
I do my level best to meet students where they are. I have faith that everyone can achieve their goals in math if they work hard and give it enough time. I firmly believe that the best way to get better at math is to make mistakes and learn from them. My students would describe me as knowledgeable, personable, and responsive. I have a knack for explaining how to approach challenging math concepts / problems, and I always go the extra mile to make sure students feel supported and encouraged." less...
