"I’m a math teacher in my 4th year of classroom experience, currently teaching 8th grade math. This is my 3rd year teaching 8th grade math, which is a combination of prealgebra, statistics, and geometry. I’ve also student taught Integrated Math 1 and Integrated Math 2. Additionally, I worked as a teaching apprentice for college math classes for three years, supporting in several different classes: College Algebra, Calculus 1, and Calculus 2.

I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (teaching concentration) from California State University of Fullerton and earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. I am a fully credentialed and licensed teacher in teaching Secondary Math. My tutoring style is patient, clear, and focused on helping students actually build conceptual knowledge of mathematics in addition to procedural fluency. I love asking students the "why" behind each step of a process in order to build their conceptual knowledge and help them develop a conceptual awareness of the steps they are taking to solve problems.
