"Every person who opens a math or science textbook sees the material in a different way. Teachers don't always have time to explore the different views with each student. Since I was in high school I have been privileged as a tutor to be part of that exploration and help unlock the ideas and concepts without guidance. I started by tutoring my classmates in high school, then worked at the tutoring center at the university during my undergraduate Engineering degree, and I was a teaching assistant during my graduate studies (Master's in Electrical Engineering).
The majority of my tutoring has been college level mathematics as that was my primary focus in the university tutoring center. I have also tutored the first year of college physics classes. During the last 2 years I have been substitute teaching for high school Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calc. My main goal is always to understand what the student's are seeing and help them understand the material from their point of view.
As your tutor I will always strive to understand you and find ways to present the material that will work with your understanding and point of view. My goal is to help the students develop the tools needed to find the solutions to the topics they are learning. Mastering the tools in each section only make the next section easier. I try to bring excitement and joy to any tutoring I do as well, learning without joy is never as good. If you are interested send me a message and let's see if we can work together!" less...
