Hi, I'm Nia! I'm a well-experienced tutor who's passionate about the study and teaching of mathematics. I've loved math for as long as I can remember; as a child I often spent hours contemplating math riddles. There is so much more to the subject than merely what we’re taught in school — math is strategy, gameplay, logic, reasoning, puzzles, symmetry, art, and on and on. I think seeing the playful side to math is just as important understanding the topics we cover in school, and I want to help your child explore and enjoy all these facets of math!

I received a BS in Mathematics from Boston College in 2020, and since then I've continued to fuel my love of math through teaching others as well as studying various topics on my own. In my free time I enjoy learning about all types of math, but am now especially interested in topics such as abstract algebra/group theory, topology and metamathematics, to name a few.

I tutored peers throughout high school and college, and have been a full-time math tutor for 4 years now. As a tutor, I try to be flexible and tailor my sessions to the needs of each student. Every person learns differently, and I think it’s highly important to be able to adapt to a person’s learning style. Some students do better with rigid instruction; others gravitate toward independent exploration, or even learning through gameplay!
