My name is Alex, and I’m a former High School Math Teacher with a passion for helping students truly understand and appreciate mathematics. I’ve taught at two different schools in the Middle Tennessee area and hold a bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in Secondary Education. My background includes over three years of tutoring a wide range of math subjects and standardized test prep (ACT, SAT, and PSAT) at a local tutoring center during college. I worked with students of all levels and learning styles, and many saw their ACT scores improve by an average of 6 points. That said, I believe true progress comes from teamwork — I bring the guidance, but the student brings the drive.

During my time as a high school teacher, I also tutored students remotely for another two years while offering extra help to my own students before and after school. That consistent, one-on-one time helped me refine my approach and find what works best for each learner — whether they need step-by-step help, test strategies, or confidence building.

Today, I work as an Application Developer at a prestigious hospital, but my love for teaching math has never left. I continue to tutor because I find joy in helping students go from frustration to clarity — whether they’re stuck on Algebra, preparing for Pre-Calculus, or aiming for a top ACT score.
