"I'm Michael, a highly motivated math tutor with a passion for helping students succeed. I graduated from Carleton College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Computer Science, where my senior thesis attained distinction and was later published. While there, I served as a tutor at our Math Skills Center, where I assisted college students with a wide range of math courses, including Calculus 1/2/3, Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Set Theory, Combinatorics, and more. Some of my students would come for a lesson here or there, while others would routinely come and seek my help reinforcing what they were learning in their classes. Through this job, I became comfortable helping students with a broad range of mathematical fields. It also taught me the importance of not only helping students to solve problems, but making them familiar and comfortable with the underlying concepts.

I am experienced in working with students in high school as well as college, and I'm adept at tailoring my teaching style to individual learning needs. I believe in building a strong foundation of understanding through clear explanations, walked-through sample problems, and interactive exercises. I do everything possible to foster a positive and supportive learning environment. My goal is to not only help students improve their grades but also to build their confidence and develop a genuine appreciation for mathematics.
