"Hello! I am Shannon, a small-town mayor, medical student, and mom of two, and I’m excited to help you explore and master content to reach all your learning goals.

Here are some of the areas where I can help you succeed: early literacy, essay construction, civics/ American government, public speaking and presentation, interviewing skills, MBA course content, medical school admissions, pre-medical sciences, and test preparation including GMAT and MCAT/ CARS.

My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with Pre-Professional Health Sciences concentration, and a Master of Business Administration degree. I am currently working toward my Doctor of Medicine degree in good academic standing, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2029.

My approach could best be characterized as “kind and patient with lots of structure”. I will check in with comprehension questions to make sure that the content is making sense. We will switch up the approach as needed and create a plan together that is tailored to your needs. I have over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring with clients from ages 18 months (swimming lessons) to adult learners (professional licensure exams). Further, I have extensive experience with neuroatypical learners, having completed a course of study in paraeducation before deciding to pursue my doctorate in medicine instead of full-time teaching.

My philosophy is that learning is a lifelong journey so we want it to be fun and build your confidence along the way. I will teach you study skills and strategies that help you approach the content in an increasingly more independent way, so that you have a great foundation for whatever may come next.
