"Hi, I’m Jonathan. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in History from Pennsylvania State University. Wanting to continue my career in history, I attended The City College of New York, where I earned my master’s degree in Education so I could begin my teaching journey.

I began teaching through two years of student teaching. My first official teaching position was at a school with a 1:1 student-teacher ratio. I really enjoyed my time there and worked with many incredible students who needed support in various areas, including dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, and motivation. One of my priorities as an educator is to remind my students that they are human—just like everyone else. I personally manage anxiety and ADHD in the classroom, and I understand how important it is to provide support, not judgment. I believe a positive atmosphere is the foundation for a successful learning environment.

I’ve taught grades 6 through 12 across a range of subjects, including Social Studies, ELA, Philosophy, Writing, and Linguistics. I’ve been teaching for three years and currently work with 6th and 8th graders in the South Bronx (whom I appreciate greatly). As a Gen Z teacher, I aim to make my sessions as relaxed and supportive as possible while also challenging students to rise to their full potential and succeed in whatever subject they’re passionate about.
