"Hi! My name is Fatiha, but I usually go by Tia. I’m an undergraduate student at Barnard College of Columbia University, where I’m pursuing a degree in Mathematical Sciences. I’ve been tutoring math since middle school, starting with peers and younger students, and have since worked with organizations like Teach for America, Brooklyn Community Services, and my own middle school. These experiences have taught me how to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.

I specialize in middle school and high school mathematics, from pre-algebra to Calculus I, and I love making math feel less intimidating and more fun. My approach focuses on breaking down complex problems into simple, digestible steps and encouraging active problem-solving rather than rote memorization. I also adapt my methods to each student’s learning style, whether they need visual explanations, hands-on practice, or step-by-step coaching. My goal is not only to improve grades but to help students develop a stronger foundation and lasting appreciation for math.
