"I'm Kevin! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, and dual minors in Political Science and International Studies. In college, I realized the classes I learned and retained the most from were taught by professors who made boring subjects fun, engaging, and relevant to everyone in class. This manifested itself in different ways via class field trips (e.g. City Hall), small group activities (e.g. Jeopardy), and or one-on-one conversations with them. In a nutshell, I benefited a lot from nontraditional teaching methods that showed how what I learned could be applied to the real world.

I have a year of teaching experience in a sixth grade science classroom. I worked directly to give full class instruction, but also had a small focus group of 5-10 students in each of my 6 classes. These were the students who needed the most personal help, so I worked with them during class to make sure they didn't fall behind. Additionally, I co-led the afterschool tutoring program where students could come for any homework help. In this setting I tutored not only in science, but also math, English, and social studies.
