"I graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Environmental Biology. I took an education course as apart of my studies at UNCA, as well as led an internship at a community garden in which I supervised youth volunteers at the garden weekly. I tutored on and off throughout college in various subjects before becoming a middle school science and social studies teacher at Shining Rock Classical Academy in Waynesville, NC in 2020. I have worked with a range of ages of students from elementary through college/adult. I have experience leading a classroom, one on one lessons, as well as teaching groups or individuals online.

I typically utilize a Socratic Method when teaching students of all ages. I find this to be the most empowering method for student confidence and the longevity of the material retained. I'm experienced with tailoring lesson plans to students of all ages and ability levels according to what they are capable of digesting developmentally.
