"I earned a Bachelor of Arts in U.S. History and Studio Art from the College of Charleston in 2003, and a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University in 2005.

I began my career in education as a volunteer tutor with the Greenville Literacy Association in 2005, working with adult learners. My passion for adult education led me to join their staff in 2007, where I contributed to developing their ESL curriculum and training volunteer tutors.

I then served as a Children's Librarian with the Greenville County Library System, planning and leading early literacy activities for preschool children and their caregivers using the Reggio Emilia and Visual Thinking Strategies methods. After four years in this role, I became a certified School Librarian. I then worked for three years with Greenville County Schools at an elementary school, where I planned and led literacy activities and information literacy lessons for K-5th grade students.
