"Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where I earned a degree in Physiology and Neurobiology and a minor in Spanish. I was a member of the UConn Honors Program, graduated with a 3.9 GPA, and was named to the Dean’s List every semester. I will be starting medical school next fall, and my academic and clinical training has given me a strong foundation in biology, anatomy, physiology, and general health sciences.
I have several years of experience tutoring high school students in biology and other science courses, as well as providing SAT preparation and academic support across subjects. I earned a 1400 SAT score and have also completed the MCAT, which allows me to help students not only master content, but also develop effective test-taking strategies and study skills. I am especially comfortable supporting students in high school biology, introductory science courses, and pre-med coursework, and I focus on helping students feel confident and prepared rather than overwhelmed.
My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and individualized. I break down challenging material into clear, manageable steps, identify gaps in understanding, and adjust my teaching style to fit each student’s learning needs. I also place a strong emphasis on organization, time management, and learning how to study effectively, skills that benefit students well beyond a single course or exam. Many of the students I have worked with have seen improvements in both their grades and confidence, particularly in science subjects they previously found difficult.
Above all, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material. Whether you need help strengthening their biology or chemistry foundation, preparing for the SAT, or building skills for long-term academic success, I am committed to helping them grow with confidence and independence.
I look forward to working with you!" less...
