"I love learning and have been involved in teaching, training, and education for my whole life. My approach to education is to try to make it as much fun for you as it is for me. I grew up in the UK, graduating from Durham University with a degree in physics and chemistry. My postgraduate work was completed at Bristol University where I achieved the PGCE (Certificate in Education) teaching qualification with a main subject specialism in physics and secondary specialisms in integrated science and TEFL. I became a teacher in the UK covering physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, and mathematics. When I moved to the US, I focused on tutoring, working both privately, and with the local voluntary organizations, 'I Have a Dream Foundation' and 'Youth Competency in Math and Science'. My tutoring work spans over 23 years.

In the US I worked for the past 20 years in biomedical research, and during that time, traveled the world giving talks relating to my work, and teaching technical examination preparatory classes. Additionally, I have taught management and leadership topics for over a decade, and I currently work as a trainer for two companies providing classes to universities and companies.

I am an officer of a local Toastmaster club where I regularly speak, and I have coached public speaking both in the US and the UK, in addition to winning awards internationally for speaking. For me, one of the joys of tutoring is the relationship I develop with the student and watching (and celebrating) our progress and success!
