I have over twelve years of teaching and tutoring experience at the high school and college level, with an emphasis in test prep. I have worked for two stellar MCAT test prep companies, Altius and Blueprint (formerly Next Step), and been a TA for five different physics classes at BYU.
I believe that academic learning and test prep is no different than any common skillset we enjoy learning: riding a bike, playing the piano, beating a video game, or mastering a foreign language. Gaining a skill, no matter what it may be, requires time, effort, and engagement. My tutoring philosophy revolves around creating custom study plans, providing guidance and feedback while working through problems, and explaining difficult concepts.
Tutoring and teaching experience includes MCAT prep (college level physics, chemistry, biology, and biochemistry) and TAing for university physics courses such as modern physics, mechanics, electromagnetism, and computational physics. I have also freelance tutored AP calculus, AP statistics, differential equations, GRE math, economics, and ACT/SAT prep.
I'm a bit obsessed with learning and teaching all things science and math. My friends, family members, and coworkers would say that I'm tutoring even when I'm not tutoring. I love telling others about science news, fun math problems I've stumbled on, or educational YouTube videos that explain a topic in a new way. Learning is my past time, and it is fun. Reach out to help make your learning fun and effective." less...
