"Hi! My name is Rocio, and I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in Microbiology and Cell Science in 2022. At the same time, I graduated with a minor in Latin American studies (bilingual level). I took my gained knowledge and started graduate school at The Ohio State University in 2022 to obtain a PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. During my PhD studies, I received a Master of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and am in good standing to graduate in 2027 with my doctorate (PhD) degree. Additionally, I am a native Spanish speaker who underwent ESL programs herself (middle school) and am now fluent in English and obtaining the highest level of education in the sciences.

I have previously tutored students one-on-one in Spanish, Math, and Sciences. Outside of the conventional courses, I have tutored and mentored students for college applications and public speaking. During my PhD studies, I have mentored 8 students in laboratory techniques and science concepts. My philosophy with tutoring is that every student can learn and achieve their goals. Students just need the right format of learning tailored to them and a tutor who is engaged and actively working with them to promote their success.

I have been teaching and mentoring throughout my time as a student myself. I have tutored ages 11+ in a one-on-one format online and in person.
