"I hold both teaching and administrative certifications and have served as a classroom teacher, principal, and currently as an assistant principal. My educational background and professional experience have provided me with a strong foundation in history and the social sciences, as well as a deep understanding of how students learn best. Throughout my career, I have helped students develop the analytical skills, reading strategies, and historical thinking necessary to succeed in their coursework and beyond.
I began my career teaching history, where I worked with students to explore everything from U.S. and world history to government and civics. In the classroom, I emphasized critical thinking, guiding students to analyze primary sources, draw connections between past and present, and build clear, evidence-based arguments. My students ranged from freshmen encountering historical study for the first time to seniors preparing for advanced coursework and exams, which gave me experience adapting lessons to different ages, skill levels, and learning styles.
My tutoring approach in history focuses on making the subject both engaging and relevant. I believe students learn history most effectively when they can connect it to real-world issues and their own experiences. I work with students to strengthen not only their content knowledge but also their skills in reading comprehension, essay writing, and test preparation. Whether a student needs support preparing for Regents exams, AP history courses, or simply building confidence in their day-to-day classwork, I create a supportive and structured environment where they can grow as learners and thinkers. With over a decade of experience in education, I bring both subject expertise and a passion for helping students succeed in history." less...
