I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Portland State University, but honestly, the years I’ve spent leading teams, mentoring other engineers, and helping students break into the industry is much more valuable in this context.

I can help you learn and understand the web technologies needed for you to excel in school, get your career started, or grow your existing career. But I can also help with the less technical aspects of becoming or progressing as an engineer, like forming strong relationships with your manager and co-workers, being highly productive without burning out, creating effective presentations, and more.

I adapt my teaching style based on your needs, though I generally keep a few things consistent. I try to guide towards answers rather than give answers. Giving answers helps get the task done faster but doesn’t help as much with learning. I also try to keep a close eye on how you’re feeling about the work you’re doing. Building software is hard and often frustrating, and learning to manage that frustration is a critical part of being an effective engineer. I can help with that.
