"Hi, I'm Shayne! I am currently a senior at SUNY Albany with a major in Spanish linguistics and a minor in sociology, and am also starting a masters degree in the fall. I also have been awarded on two separate occasions for academic excellence and dedication to my field.

I have tutored varying levels of students for about four years now, ranging from 5 to 14 years old, and am in the process of renewing my TESOL certificate. I am fluent in Spanish and English, and have worked both remotely and in person as a teacher/tutor for English as a second language, writing, reading comprehension, spelling, Spanish, and study practice. In my experience, I have tutored on a 1-1 basis with my students, but I am open to group sessions as well.

In school, I was always the type of student who asked a lot of questions. This was something that greatly helped me all throughout my school career, but I also know what it is like to be struggling with a subject in school and to need extra help. I always had wonderful teachers who went above and beyond to assist me, and really took their time to make sure I understood what I was unsure about. These experiences have stayed with me, and I do my best to make sure that I bring that same attitude in to my tutoring practices.

Each student is different, and not every teaching method will work for everyone. I always keep this in mind when approaching a new learning experience, and am always open to getting to know the student and/or parents to figure out the right path to take. Making tutoring as individualistic as possible is very important to me, and I will do my absolute best to help any student achieve their personal goals.
