"Hi! I am a teacher, parent, and consultant that has extensive experience in Spanish tutoring for all ages and stages. I have worked in education for over 20 years, teaching Spanish to students at all different levels (pre-K- 12th and adults!), with different backgrounds, and in different school settings (public school, private school, one-on-one). I have also many years of developing and designing curriculum for Spanish classes, differentiating for the various needs of small groups of students. My Master's Degree in Teaching provided me with deep knowledge of how to backwards design lessons to maintain the main objective in mind while scaffolding the student to build their knowledge and language proficiency. I have also presented and spoken at various conferences about how to best engage learners and build all four language skills: speaking, reading, writing and listening. I take time to assess each students' proficiency, gaps in understanding, and determine the most engaging and effective way to help them achieve their goals.

In the past I have developed individual learning plans for in-person tutoring, online lessons with additional asynchronous practice, and always provide free resources for extension activities or extended learning. I am a strong believer that students learn a second language best when first provided with comprehensible input: understandable ways to hear and read the target language followed with activities to help them practice speaking and writing. Students are also more likely to acquire the language when they are motivated and engaged. My tutoring sessions are not only individualized to the learners' needs, goals, and proficiency level, they are also written to incorporate the students' interests.
