"Hi! I'm Julia. I am a 31-year-old college graduate with over 5 years of experience in Spanish instruction. I have been actively involved in a nonprofit based in Guatemala for the past 10 years, which has included interpretation, translation, and cultural insight beyond what a classroom can offer. In addition, I received my Certificate in Translation Studies (EN/ES) from Adelphi University in 2019, and became a Qualified Medical Interpreter in 2020. I love language, and I love sharing that passion with other eager students of any age!

I have served as a tutor here on Wyzant, with Varsity Tutors, and locally with clients through local organizations.

My method of tutoring focuses on strengthening understanding of the basic grammar and structure of the language, while utilizing creative methods that allow the brain to learn the language in the same way you might learn your native language as a child. This can include stories, music, games, conversation, and other fun methods!

I work with students of all ages and will work together with you to customize an approach that best suits you or your child.
