"With over eight years of experience as a certified Special Education teacher, I have worked extensively with students in grades 6–8 in a self-contained classroom setting. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Education with an endorsement in Special Education and am certified to teach in Idaho. My teaching experience has centered around individualized instruction, supporting students with a wide range of learning differences, emotional needs, and developmental delays. I create structured, supportive environments that emphasize consistency, compassion, and academic growth.
My approach is rooted in building strong relationships and using multi-sensory, student-centered strategies to meet learners where they are. I am trained in behavior intervention techniques and trauma-informed practices, which help me address the whole child—not just their academic performance. I have provided one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction both within the classroom and as a supplemental service. I have also worked closely with students coping with grief and mental health challenges, incorporating social-emotional learning and wellness into my daily teaching.
In addition to my academic background, I bring a strong foundation in physical wellness. I competed in track and cross country for 14 years, including at the collegiate level, and have coached distance runners, helping young athletes build resilience, confidence, and healthy habits. As a lifelong advocate for physical and mental health, and as a homesteader who values natural living, I strive to create a calm, nurturing, and motivating environment where students can thrive both academically and personally." less...
