"Hello! I'm Kara. I have one Master's degree in Mathematics Education and one in Mathematical Sciences with a focus on Computation. I have been teaching high school math and computer science courses for 15 years. My favorite part about learning is the moment when a hard concept suddenly makes sense. It is my joy to help students achieve these moments of success and gain confidence in their abilities. I excel at being able to adjust lessons to various learning styles so that all students can understand.

I love teaching and tutoring in many areas of mathematics. I have tutored many students over the years in everything from Pre-Algebra to college level Calculus. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Computer Programming (Java, JavaScript, Python), Precalculus for 4 years (including college level), AP Calculus and college-level Calculus I am also a co-author of a Geometry and a Precalculus textbooks from BJU Press.

I also have a deep passion for computer science. I have an M.S. in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University with a focus on computation. I have experience in Java, Python, RobotC and other programming languages. I have been a mentor for an FTC Robotics team for 4 years and have taught Introduction to Robotics using the RobotC programming language, Introduction to Programming using the Java programming language and Computer Science Principles using JavaScript. I am also certified to teach AP Computer Science A.
