"Hello! My name is Libbey! I am currently on the Pre-Medical track, and majoring in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience as an undergraduate student. I have gained experience as an elementary school teaching assistant, as well as over 100 hours of experience in tutoring at learning centers. I am adamant about making sure that each of my students or anyone that I tutor, is being taught in a way that matches their learning skills. In schools today there are many problems with obtaining ways to teach a curriculum that involves incorporating visual aids, auditory aides, kinesthetic aids, tactile aids, etc. Therefore I always make it my number one priority to make sure I have multiple ways of explaining a certain topic always, to help the students I tutor know that there is no problem learning a certain topic a different way.

My tutoring style can be best described as an equal engagement and teaching style. I like to make sure that I allow for anyone I tutor to talk through any questions they have, as well as talk through answers that they obtain from a question. I believe very firmly in making sure that students can explain a topic that they learn, allowing for them to be able to encode and recall the information better by creating verbal and visual memories. I have had a year of experience as a teaching assistant in an online classroom setting covering multiple elementary-school topics, as well as a setting of a small group of 1-7 students. Additionally, I have experience in teaching science and mathematics in an academic tutoring center to a mixture of students across many different backgrounds, some with disabilities, and some without. My diverse background in teaching makes me passionate about leaving no child behind, and in the fact that all children can learn any topic that they put their mind to.
