"I hold a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and a strong foundation in education, with over a decade of experience in both classroom instruction and nonprofit program leadership. My educational background, combined with real-world teaching and mentoring, uniquely equips me to support students in a wide range of academic areas, including literacy, writing, and organizational/study skills.
My teaching journey began in the classroom, where I worked with elementary and middle school students, focusing on individualized learning approaches and differentiated instruction. I have experience teaching in both one-on-one and small-group settings, adapting my methods to meet the unique needs of each learner. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students ages 6 through 16, helping them build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve measurable academic growth.
In addition to my academic and leadership background, I am also a certified Therapeutic Horsemanship Instructor, where I have worked with children and youth with diverse learning, emotional, and physical needs. This experience has strengthened my ability to connect with students through patience, empathy, and individualized support—key qualities that directly inform my tutoring approach. In both therapeutic riding and academic tutoring, I focus on building trust, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment. I’ve learned how to adapt instruction to meet each learner where they are, using multi-sensory, hands-on strategies to engage and empower them. This experience has deepened my commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching that recognizes and supports the whole child
My approach to tutoring is personalized, strengths-based, and focused on building both competence and confidence. I believe in meeting students where they are, using data-driven strategies and positive reinforcement to help them succeed academically and beyond." less...
