"I am a criminal justice Ph.D. student at the City University of New York Graduate Center. I have been teaching statistics and data analysis in New York City at the undergraduate level for 9 years and at the graduate (master's) level for 5 years. I have taught statistics from both a conceptual and pencil-and-paper mathematical perspective and have also incorporated the use of software, such as Excel, SPSS and R, in my teaching.

I have worked with students with a wide range of experience with statistics and computer-based data analysis, from absolutely none to students actively using statistics and data analysis in their own careers. I have also done data analysis consulting for a variety of projects, both within and outside of the college environment.

As a student, I have taken a number of statistics classes and I understand the anxiety many people feel when faced with the material. When tutoring, my goal is to help students use the material that they have been given in their classes to understand the concepts and procedures of statistics and complete assignments, as well as incorporating additional material and exercises to supplement their primary instruction." less...
