"Bonjour!

My name is Nathalie. I was born and raised in France. I have always loved languages and traveling. After getting my Master's in Business and Languages, I moved to the US to improve my English so I could later find a job using my language skills. I was hired to teach French as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at MTSU near Nashville.

Things did not go exactly as planned... I met my husband in my last few months there and enjoyed teaching so much that I decided to pursue a career in education. So I went back to college to become a certified French K-12 teacher. I first taught college classes as an Adjunct Professor and later switched to Middle School for 10 years.

Over the past 17 years, I have lived and taught in Japan, South Korea, Germany and Belgium. While in Asia and Germany, I organized my own tutoring business having students from all ages; young children and adults who wanted to learn French.

I used different methods and techniques from nursery rhymes to literature studies to tailor to my students' needs.

In Belgium, I went back to the classroom and taught First Grade French Immersion on the NATO base outside Brussels. I thoroughly enjoyed being a Department of Defense teacher for 6 years. It was rewarding to witness students' progress.

Traveling and teaching students from so many different nations gave me expertise to better guide students through meaningful and productive lessons.

Having two daughters attending UTK, my family relocated to TN last year where I now teach High School French.

I don't believe that being a native of France or having an Educational Specialist degree makes me the best teacher.
