"I'm Charles! I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Spanish. I'm a near-native Spanish speaker, having spent half my childhood living in Mexico. I've spent considerable time in Spain as well, and I understand the challenges that students face in learning another language, as well as learning to express themselves in English.

I've taught college and high school for over 20 years and have experience helping students with different learning styles. I taught honors English classes, journalism and all levels of Spanish. My specialty is teaching grammar, writing and literary analysis. I emphasize critical thinking and seek creative ways to make difficult academic topics approachable. As someone who once struggled with certain academic areas, I understand the value of patience, persistence and finding methods that work based on the strengths of the learner.
