"Greetings to scholars and families, my name is Amir Sharif S. The name Amir means “prince” or “leader,” while Sharif means “noble” or “honorable.” Together, they reflect qualities of guidance, service, and integrity — values I bring to every tutoring session. I view teaching as more than transferring information; it is a calling to guide others with patience and purpose while helping them unlock their potential.

My tutoring journey began in the 5th grade when I tested out of all math at my school. During math periods, I was assigned to assist younger students with their lessons. That early responsibility sparked my love for teaching and showed me how knowledge becomes most valuable when shared. From then on, I committed myself to both learning and mentoring, understanding that growth happens on both sides of the exchange.

I later earned my Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a concentration in Applied Cultural Thought and a minor in Finance from North Carolina A&T State University. Along the way, I competed in the Bloomberg HBCU Trading Challenge and the CFA Institute Research Challenge, experiences that strengthened my expertise in economics, finance, and analysis while sharpening my ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

Over the years, I have worked with middle school, high school, and college students in one-on-one and small group settings. Many of the students I supported went on to attend top universities, including Stanford and UC Berkeley. My approach emphasizes clarity, patience, and empowerment. I tailor my methods to the student’s learning style and focus on building lasting confidence alongside academic achievement.
