"My name is Cindy Dolan. I am a mother of 2 who are currently in 5th and 7th grade. I was raised by 2 teachers and have worked in education for 20+ years. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education/Social Science and a M.S. in Educational Technology. I have always loved working with students and enjoy when I see my students finally have the understanding they are looking for and succeed.

Since I graduated with my B.S. in 2002, I have worked in many school and tutoring environments. I have been a substitute teacher in elementary schools in both CT and MA. For 2 years, I worked at a Catholic school as a middle school teacher. I taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Language Arts, Science, and Religion to 5th, 7th, and 8th grade students. I worked as an Instructor at Sylvan Learning Centers for 15 years working with students ranging from Kindergarten to adults. I taught reading, math, study skills, Math SAT prep, and writing at the Sylvan Learning Center, but I also worked as a Math program lead for a few years while there as well. After leaving Sylvan, I worked as a private tutor to a handful of students. I worked as a one on one with an elementary student on the spectrum and helped with her program needs. I have also worked as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional where I was able to help with classroom management and often worked with small groups to provide extra help.

I build rapport with my students by trying to learn their strengths, weaknesses, hobbies, and interests. This allows for us to build a relationship of respect and understanding and creates a personal connection. I would love to be able to share my love of learning with all of you." less...
