"Hi there, I'm Josh! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University. I fostered an interest in teaching once I became an organic chemistry teaching assistant (TA). This penchant then became a valuable skill of mine. I learned how to break down a complicated subject into easy to understand concepts enjoyable for students to learn. I believe tutoring should be thorough but fun, with sessions that are effectively detailed, engaging and lighthearted. I work hard to establish a connection of trust and an atmosphere that encourages one to learn.

As an educator for over 5 years, I have explained rigorous concepts in front of classrooms ranging from 10-400 students. I have also worked 1 on 1 with students, focusing on their particular needs. For larger classes, I held review sessions with personally made content slides and practice problems. I have experience teaching in-person and online via Zoom. My efforts to go the extra mile have enabled me to work my way up from a TA to being the lead organic chemistry TA at my university, then as an adjunct professor and now currently as a tutor.

My time on Wyzant has been particularly fruitful as I have been able to expand my audience. I've helped dozens of students across the country, enabling them to achieve the success they want. My clients have ranged from first-time college students to returning ones, making my approaches applicable to those of all ages!
