"Hi! I’m Sarah and I’m a passionate and dedicated tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology from Johns Hopkins. I’m currently a dental student at University of Pennsylvania. Some relevant stats include ACT score of 33, 3.8 GPA at Johns Hopkins, 24 on DAT, and 3.9 GPA at University of Pennsylvania. I have experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds; ages ranging from 7-16 and in subjects such as Math, English, and Biology. I've mostly taught students on a one on one basis in both online and in-person settings. I've tutored middle school Math one on one, tutored ESL in a group setting, and volunteered as an English teacher in a classroom setting as well.

From being both a student and a teacher, I’ve experienced that students learn best when the instructor can break down complex topics into straightforward, key points followed by an explanation that is easy to understand. If you're having trouble with a subject, it's not because the subject is boring or because you're incompetent, it's simply because you haven't deeply understood the topic yet. Once you do, learning becomes fun and easy!
