"Hi! I’m Christian, an astrophysics PhD student at the University of Utah with a passion for helping students excel in physics and math. My teaching philosophy centers on patience, adaptability, and collaboration. I know that every student learns differently and I am committed to creating a customized learning approach for every individual. Whether you are a visual learner or prefer hands on problem solving, my ultimate goal is to make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience for you. I am able to tutor math and physics at any high school (AP, SAT, ACT) or undergraduate level.
My academic journey started with a bachelor’s degree in physics and I now collaborate with scientists at institutions like MIT. My work involves problem solving, teamwork, and using concrete evidence to uncover new insights about the universe. These collaborations have taught me the importance of working with others and communicating complex ideas in ways that are clear and engaging, skills that I bring into every tutoring session.
In addition to my research, I’ve gained valuable teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for undergraduate physics courses over the past two years. I’ve worked with students one-on-one and in group settings, helping them tackle challenging concepts such as electricity and magnetism, mechanics, and advanced math. My time as a TA has taught me how to connect with students at all levels, adapt to different learning styles, and break down tough topics into manageable steps.
Outside the classroom, I have also mentored middle school students through a program called Science With U. Through this program I have guided students through the scientific process as they designed science fair projects and presented their work. Whether I’m working with younger students or college students, I believe that building confidence is just as important as mastering the material.
Please reach out to me and we can work together to overcome obstacles and achieve academic success, one step at a time!" less...
