"Hello! I’m Essence, an International Baccalaureate graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering experienced in tutoring math and science. I started tutoring 15 years ago helping elementary and middle school students in all subjects. Later on, I expanded to more advanced subjects such as Differential Equations, Calculus, Physics, and AP/IB test prep.

While most of my experience is one-on-one, I have 2 years of combined experience as an aide in a mixed levels mathematics classroom (ages 13 to 16), and leading elementary (grades 3 and 5) tutoring classes of 10 to 16 students.

What I enjoy most about tutoring, and engineering as well, is creative problem solving. I wholeheartedly believe teaching is anything but one-size fits all. The process of learning a student and crafting lessons best suited to them is so incredibly rewarding! At the end of the day, I want the students I support to see measurable progress and improve their confidence in their academic abilities.
